Construction Estimator

Our client, a Long-Island based GC, is seeking an Estimator to join their team. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and/or multifamily construction projects Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and vendor proposals Develop scopes of work for subcontractor bidding and procurement Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Executives, and field teams during preconstruction Maintain and update cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating tools Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities, and potential savings strategies Assist in preparing budgets, GMPs, and bid proposals for submission to clients Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to clarify scope and resolve discrepancies Conduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and constraints Support negotiations with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing Ensure all estimates align with project schedules and logistics Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings with project teams Qualifications: 3-5+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple bids simultaneously #J-18808-Ljbffr
