Nurse Practitioner, Float / Medical Complement (PMHNP)

About the Practice We are a Medicaid-forward outpatient addiction and mental health practice opening in Palm Beach County, Florida. We blend psychiatric medication management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and interventional psychiatry, including Spravato (esketamine) under REMS and TMS, inside a trauma-informed, inclusive culture built around the patients and communities we serve. We are founder-led and physician-anchored, with a board-certified psychiatrist serving as Medical Director and a clinical supervisor and operations team already in place. The Role This is the medical-focus complement to our Lead Nurse Practitioner. You will float to cover the days the Medical Director is not on-site, keeping continuity for the patient panel and leaning toward the medical and primary care side of the practice, including physicals, ongoing medical follow-up, MAT continuation, and managing co-occurring medical conditions. The ideal candidate is a psychiatric NP with primary care experience, though a strong medical or primary care NP background is also a fit for this seat, and we are open to a candidate who mirrors the Lead with slightly less seniority. We are flexible for the right person, but this is not a role for a brand-new graduate. You will be working with high-acuity, underserved, and substance use populations from day one. Key Responsibilities Provide medical-focused care and prescribing, including physicals, ongoing medical follow-up, comorbidity management, and medical-clearance support. Continue MAT for established patients and support the psychiatric side of the practice as needed. Cover the floor on the days the Medical Director is not on-site, holding continuity of care for the panel. Provide Spravato observation coverage once REMS certified. Manage a daily visit volume reviewed each quarter, lighter at opening and ramping over time. Complete clinical notes within 48 to 72 hours of each encounter. Lean on the Medical Director and Lead NP for complex psychiatric cases. Schedule and Structure Starts at three days a week (about 32 hours). Potential to grow toward full-time as the practice adds Saturday hours. Floats to cover the days the Medical Director is not on-site, with specific days set together with the Medical Director. On-site in West Palm Beach. Structure (1099 or W-2) is open and finalized with the right candidate. Qualifications Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program. Active Florida Nurse Practitioner license (required). Active DEA registration (required). PMHNP with primary care experience is the ideal background, though a strong medical or primarycare NP background also fits this seat. Open to strong NPs who came up through nursing (RN to NP). Roughly 1 to 5 years of experience, seasoned enough for high-acuity, underserved, and substance use populations (more experience welcome). Hospital and PHP exposure preferred over a brand-new graduate. Comfortable working with substance use disorder populations. Spanish or Haitian Creole language skills are a real asset here, since much of this work is about meeting patients where they are and breaking down the barriers that keep people from care.
