Type: Contract to Full-Time; 100% In-Office Location: Brooklyn, NY Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000/year About Doris Dev and Doris Design: Doris Dev is a consumer product development company. We help companies make new products and bring them to market. Our offices are based in Brooklyn (DDNY) and Hong Kong (DDHK). Doris Dev works with startups and established companies across many consumer categories including: hardware and electronics, cookware, soft-goods, and packaging. Doris Dev also incubates internal brands (such as Canopy) and grows and supports these brands to launch and beyond. Working with the Doris Dev Engineering teams and their dynamic sourcing capabilities across the globe, Doris Design is capable of maintaining an unprecedented level of control over the intent and outcome of every project. Doris Design focuses on creating salient ideas, finding their materials and ultimately defining the forms they can be realized in. The office draws on everyday observations, deep research and an anthropological approach as a means of product development. The ambition is to build products that live in the future, with a careful eye on the past. The studio distills ideas down to what they should be, while preserving what appeals to our human sensibilities. Industrial Designer who: Can confidently present in client meetings, ensuring each client has an exceptional experience that is fun, relevant, and energizing Has world‑class form and aesthetically driven skills that shine You understand form, function and how they work together to design products with a ‘reason to exist’ A strong grasp of designing for existing brands, working with brand guidelines and creating products that live in existing consumer ecosystems. Go from brief to project handoff with ease Work with clients, engineers and suppliers at every stage of the product development process. Has a desire to refine the design even after handoff The Job Lead a design project from start to finish Interface directly with clients and Director of Industrial Design to bring projects to life Work with the US, Hong Kong, and Chinese team members to develop great products within the program constraints. Manage the design process from concept through production with the director You should apply for this role if you: Have at least two (2) years of experience as an industrial designer producing work of the highest quality (internships and co‑op experience are included) Have worked with a relevant design consultancy or studio. Have an entrepreneurial spirit, and the desire to lead. Have a passion for all things design and innovation and using design as a strategic tool in business. Have a strong aesthetic sense with the proven ability to manifest a vision and brand in a way that stimulates a person’s senses and emotions. Have outstanding verbal presentation skills, and are comfortable presenting to C‑level executives. Have advanced expertise in CAD modeling, rendering and illustration using software such as Rhino, Onshape, Solidworks, Keyshot, and Photoshop. Bonus Points Have direct experience working with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners. Have prior design studio experience that brings a fresh global perspective to industrial design practice. Working Hours This is a full‑time, fully in‑office position based at our Brooklyn studio, Monday through Friday . Because our work involves coordination with the DDHK office, occasional meetings may be scheduled outside of standard 9-5 hours. Doris Dev does not offer remote, hybrid, or work‑from‑home arrangements for this role.
