Job Description Summary

The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, implements, and supports enterprise application solutions that meet business and customer needs. This role partners with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions while providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers.

Job Description Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other development staff, including contract and offshore Software Engineers, and business product owners in an agile environment.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications and services.
• Participate in technical analysis, solution design, and system architecture discussions.
• Contribute to design reviews and provide recommendations for complex technical challenges.
• Evaluate solution options considering business requirements, scalability, security, performance, and cost.
• Develop and support integrations, APIs, and distributed application architectures.
• Partner with internal and external resources, including vendors and offshore teams, to deliver project objectives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Support production applications, troubleshoot issues, and participate in problem resolution efforts.
• Present technical concepts and project updates to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of experience developing software applications using [Primary Programming Language/Platform].
• Strong understanding of software development principles, object-oriented design, and application architecture.
• Two years of experience with database design, development, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience developing, supporting, and integrating enterprise applications.
• Experience working with APIs, service-oriented architectures, and system integrations.
• Experience utilizing cloud technologies and modern development platforms.
• Familiarity with source control, automated testing, deployment automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading or contributing to application modernization, cloud migration, or platform transformation initiatives.
• Experience working with enterprise authentication and authorization solutions in large-scale customer-facing applications.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted software engineering tools and modern development practices.
• Relevant technology certifications (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Java, or equivalent).
• Experience within Insurance, Retirement, Wealth Management, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.

Working Conditions

Compensation

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $110,000 - $120,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. This is a hybrid position requiring three days in office per week in one of our hub locations (Philadelphia, PA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Denver, CO). Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
