Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The role involves providing high-quality perioperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia, including a diverse patient population from newborns to geriatric clients with cases such as orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ENT, urology, and breast reconstructions. The successful candidate will be expected to handle critical care patients requiring transfer to intensive care units as needed.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty; RN License in state of employment or a compact license; BLS certification from American Heart Association; ACLS certification from American Heart Association; PALS or ENPC certification from American Heart Association or Emergency Nurses Association.
• Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. Precepting by a designated trained staff member is required, along with successful completion of onboarding requirements, including organizational competency validation and perioperative department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency requirements is mandatory.
• Work Schedule: 8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to work several shifts depending on needs, including additional example shifts such as 7:15 AM-3:45 PM, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, or 9:30 AM-6:00 PM.
• Type of Patients: Patients from newborn to geriatric with typical cases including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular, ENT, urology, and breast reconstructions. Must be capable of caring for critical care patients requiring transfer to ICU.
