Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Description Travel to work sites and provide maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services for diesel vehicles and equipment such as trailers to include but are not limited to engine services, brake service, engine diagnosis, inspections, cooling system service, etc. Most common service calls include scheduled services and repairs, breakdown response, DOT inspections, PM services.

JOB DUTIES:

Receive direction Maintenance Manager along with the Fleet and Dispatch departments. Perform instructed and scheduled repair, maintenance, and services as needed on various vehicles and equipment as instructed by the Maintenance Manager. Maintain service truck in a professional manner. Stock and maintain service truck inventory, tool collection, and all necessary paperwork daily (candidate to provide own tools) Make emergency roadside repairs; at times after-hours; carry, monitor and answer company issued cellphone for after hour service calls. Identifies and designates problems. Check safety equipment on truck and/or equipment. Inspects trucks and/or equipment, for condition, operation, parts and fluid levels. Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience with diesel truck and trailer repair, maintenance, and diagnostics Must be able to provide sufficient tool inventory to perform job duties. Ability to do mechanical repairs. Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting (50+ lbs.), and sitting for long periods of time in varied temperatures and weather conditions. Must have a clean DMV printout -- No moving violations. Valid Driver's License. High attendance and punctuality requirement. Must have neat, legible handwriting. Must be flexible with your duties, which will include repairs, oil changes, parts run, etc.
