Performs related tasks such as flame cutting, carbon arc gouging and grinding. Replaces/repairs trailer frames and suspensions.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.ResponsibilitiesUses MIG welder to assemble fabricated mild steel and aluminum products in an efficient manner to maximize productionOperates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the Safety Director or Maintenance DepartmentProduces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous and consistentFollows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs and fixtures to assist in the assembly processMaintains/produces a level of output that will minimize production delaysAssesses and executes weld repairs on various types of equipmentCleans and maintains an orderly work areaCommunicates effectively with other workers to direct personal overflowAssists other individuals in area when neededOther duties as deemed necessary and requested by the SupervisorImplements all aspects of Lean ManufacturingQualificationsKnowledge of welding processes and equipmentMinimum 2 years of welding experienceKnowledge of Pulse welding desiredAbility to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a good penetration and quality appearanceAbility to operate a plasma cutter, carbon arc gouger and acetylene torchesGood communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departmentsAbility to hold final required cosmetic finish with angle grinders and sandersMath skills, including fractions and anglesAbility to read tape measure and angle finderAbility to read blueprint drawings and cut listsAbility to lift 50 lbsPhysical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such as kneeling, lying down and overheadAbility to climb and work from a ladderAbility to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenchesTraining in forklift operation desirableTraining in overhead crane operation desirableAbility to pass a weld test given on-site during interviewBenefits Include:Starting hourly rate at $25.00Excellent medical/dental/prescription coverageLife InsurancePaid holidaysPaid vacationPaid sick time401k OpportunityESOP Retirement Program in which you become an owner of the companyMorton Buildings, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
