General Cardiologist

Salary: $360,000 - 420,000 per year Requirements:

• We require an MD or DO degree.
• We expect completion of an accredited cardiovascular disease fellowship.
• Board certification or board eligibility in cardiovascular disease is required.
• You must be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Texas.
• You must be able to obtain hospital privileges at UT Health–affiliated facilities and at UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital.
• Experience or specialty interest in Cardio-Oncology and/or Sports Cardiology is welcomed.

• We provide comprehensive outpatient general cardiology care with limited inpatient duties as assigned.
• We participate in consultative cardiology services at affiliated hospitals and clinics.
• We perform and interpret non-invasive cardiovascular procedures, including transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing, ambulatory rhythm monitoring, and ECG interpretation.
• We collaborate with subspecialty cardiology teams and cardiovascular surgery.
• We take part in an equitable call schedule aligned with divisional needs.
• We help expand access, grow clinics, and develop service lines across UT clinic locations and our UT Health Multispecialty and Research Hospital in the South Texas Medical Center.
• We provide clinical instruction and supervision for medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows.
• We join case conferences, fellow education sessions, and divisional conferences.
• We are encouraged to engage in scholarly work such as clinical outcomes research, quality improvement, or educational scholarship, although protected research time is limited in this role.

This role focuses on high-volume clinical care, procedural excellence in non-invasive cardiology, and teaching within an academic medical center, with welcomed interest in Cardio-Oncology and/or Sports Cardiology.
