We are seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the lead financial professional for our manufacturing and distribution company. Job Summary Reporting to the corporate CFO with a dotted line to the Company President, the Controller will be the senior finance resource on-site, responsible for the integrity of financial data, the efficiency of accounting operations, and the delivery of timely, accurate information to support local and corporate management decision-making. This is a hands-on role suited for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable serving as the go-to financial authority at the location level while maintaining alignment with broader organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, delivering accurate financial statements on a defined timeline Prepare and present financial reports, variance analyses, and KPI dashboards to leadership Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly reconciled Oversee cost accounting for manufactured goods, including standard costing, variance analysis, and BOM review Partner with operations on inventory valuation, cycle count programs, and physical inventory reconciliation Cash & Treasury Manage daily cash positioning and cash flow forecasting Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and collections activity Compliance & Controls Design and enforce internal controls across all financial processes Assist with annual financial audit Budgeting & Planning Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department heads Maintain rolling forecasts and provide scenario analysis to support strategic decisions Track actuals vs. budget and communicate variances with actionable commentary Supervise and develop accounting staff Support technology and automation initiatives within the finance function Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment Strong cost accounting background, including standard costing and inventory management Advanced Excel skills Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls CPA license or CMA certification NetSuite experience strongly preferred High integrity and professional discretion with sensitive financial data; strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into business insight; effective communicator who is equally comfortable presenting to ownership and collaborating with plant or warehouse managers; organized, deadline-driven, and capable of managing competing priorities in a lean team environment; continuous improvement orientation with a focus on streamlining processes and reducing manual work.
