Premier Medical Staffing Services is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel HIGHLIGHTS: Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated Required certifications: BLS. Experience or 'Must have' skills: Central Lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes. Prefer candidates who have EPIC experience and travel experience on a MedSurg Floor- IF they have experience in a level I trauma center will consider without travel experience as long as they have EPIC experience. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Beds: 56: private and semi-private. Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 & 1:5-6 from 23-0730. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Acute Care Gen-Med: cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute resp failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health & addictions. Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Lasix PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans and ADLS. Ratio 1:8-10. Bipap / Cpap for sleep apnea, administer inhalers, suctioning. House wide telemetry is monitored remotely, RN can view strip on pack or computer. Phillips monitors. Shifts & Scheduling: 3-12s 7-7:30, Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Sat/Sun for days & Fri/Sat for nights. Holiday Requirement: Varies Floating Requirements: Rotation any other acute care gen med area (nephrology, neuro, ortho, oncology). Any color professional scrubs. No visible tattoos, no visible piercings except ears.
