Our client, a full-service law firm, is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join their thriving legal team in Boston, Massachusetts. This position focuses on advising clients in trusts and estates matters, including complex estate planning strategies, wealth preservation, fiduciary guidance, and probate-related work. The attorney in this role will partner with clients, colleagues, and outside advisors to deliver thoughtful legal solutions tailored to individual and business needs.

Role: Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney

Location: Boston, MA

Salary: $160,000 - $185,000 (depending on experience)

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and implement estate planning documents, including revocable trusts and ILITs
  • Draft and implement sophisticated estate planning documents, including SLATs, ILITs,
  • IDGTs, QPRTs, and GRATs and related wealth transfer strategies including gifting and
  • installment sales of business interests
  • Preparation of family limited liability companies and limited partnerships
  • Counsel clients regarding estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning
  • Advise fiduciaries on trust and estate administration matters
  • Handle probate and trust administration matters from inception through closing
  • Prepare and review estate and gift tax returns
  • Collaborate with accounts, financial advisors, and other professional advisors
  • Participate in business development and client relationship activities
  • Contribute to the continued growth of the Trusts & Estates practice

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Trusts and Estates experience
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admission practice in Massachusetts
  • Strong experience with sophisticated estate planning and administration matters
  • Working knowledge of general estate, gift and GST tax planning
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships independently
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships
