POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: ESH Supervisor REPORTS TO: ESH Manager FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt PAY RANGE: $36.00-$45.00 per hour DOE FT / PT STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Office, Shipyard(s) & Customer Facilities

SUMMARY

Manages all Environmental, Safety and Health activities at Company Facility and at working Job Sites, overseeing and providing guidance to ESH technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct and document safety inspections as needed at a minimum randomly per week, per jobsite. Communicate safety and environmental requirements to ESH Technicians, individuals and employee groups. Ensure that continuous citing of dangerous areas/procedures and report same to onsite and offsite management daily or as often as necessary by the ESH Technician. Management of incident investigations, also to include all work place injuries are being correctly handled by the ESH Technician. Understand, determine, and implement as needed root causes of discrepancies and jobsite hazards. Implement corrective actions and procedures due to work place injuries and jobsite hazards. Determine safety related trends and convey intent for corrective actions to the Risk/ESH Manager and regional management. Ensuring/coordinating the calibration of safety equipment. Accomplish all environmental reporting needs as required per contract. Accomplish all job start up documentation as required per contract (ex. Job Safety Analysis, Safety Plans, Fire Safety Plans, Operation & Maintenance Plans, Substance Control Logs, etc.) Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Ensure ESH Technicians keep employee certifications up to date to include but not limited to: Medical Evaluations, Respirator Fit tests, annual Hazcomm, annual LOTO+, and annual Confined Space entry Conduct Performance evaluations, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustments Handles or escalates disciplinary matters, including performance, conduct, attendance, and workplace concerns, in partnership with HR and in accordance with company policy. Escalates and assists with employee relations matters and employment decisions, including terminations, in partnership with HR and in accordance with company policy.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES

Knowledge of the OSHA requirements under 1915 and horizontal standards associated under 1910 and 1926, NAVSEA Standard Items (latest version), and Local and Facility requirements within the region Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures with regards to safety and environmental policies and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents relevant to customer, company or local, state and federal safey and environmental regulations such as Waste Sheets and Safety Data Sheets Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Highschool Diploma or Equivalent 3+ Years of Supervision Experience in the Maritime Industry OSHA 5410 Maritime Standards - Preferred HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour - Preferred OSHA 521 Industrial Hygiene - Preferred OSHA 3115 Fall Protection - Preferred OSHA 3095 Low Voltage - Preferred Shipyard Competent Person (Gas Free) - Preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly exposed to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights, confined spaces, precarious places, proximity to other employees. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50+ pounds (50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly) Lifting includes from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, waist to overhead Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections Ability to climb stairs and ladders May be required to wear a respirator
