Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Chemo certified is a plus - Competence in sterile field maintenance - Ability to perform Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in telemetry oncology. The unit cares primarily for oncology patients, with a small percentage of medical-surgical telemetry cases. The nurse will have a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. Nurses are expected to complete specific clinical skills during the orientation and are assessed on their competencies. The role includes working weekends and holidays as needed. All staff must maintain natural hair color and optional facial piercings. Men must be clean shaven for fit-testing requirements. The use of specific medical equipment and adherence to hospital policies will be required. Team members will collaborate closely with an IV team and respiratory therapy, which are available 24/7. The hospital has a nursing resource available to assist with complex patient needs. Traveling nurses should be prepared to float to other medical and surgical telemetry units as needed. Documentation is performed using designated electronic medical record systems. A cancellation policy allows for up to 4 canceled shifts during the assignment period. All applicants must possess the necessary certifications and a valid nursing license.
