Tom James specializes in custom clothing and personalized wardrobe services for men and women. We are seeking a proactive, relationship-focused Sales Assistant Client Relations to work directly with a highly successful Sales Professional who ranks among the company's top 5% in sales worldwide. With a large, established client base and significant potential for continued growth, this role will help drive sales through outreach, appointment setting, and relationship development.

A key part of the position will be contacting current, less-active, and prospective clients to set appointments and maintain consistent engagement. The Sales Assistant may also accompany the Sales Professional on client visits to provide support and strengthen those relationships. As a representative of Tom James, the successful candidate should have a polished, professional presence and be comfortable interacting with a wide range of clients.

This role is best suited for someone who is independent, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working with limited day-to-day supervision. The ideal candidate will ask questions, take initiative, follow through consistently, communicate effectively, and manage priorities while the Sales Professional is in the field.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position of 30+ hours per week, based on site in our Grafton, Massachusetts office.

Hourly Pay: $25.00$27.00, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Make daily outbound calls to current, dormant, less-active, and prospective clients
• Reconnect with established clients and help identify opportunities for future appointments
• Schedule appointments and support consistent client follow-up
• Use Tom James' proprietary system to identify clients, create call lists, track outreach, update client information, and enter referrals
• Keep the Sales Professional informed of outreach activity, client responses, opportunities, successes, and challenges
• Take ownership of follow-up and help ensure opportunities do not fall through the cracks

Client Relations

• Communicate professionally and consistently with clients by phone, email, text, LinkedIn, and written correspondence
• Provide follow-up regarding appointments, order status, promotions, and delivery scheduling
• Help maintain regular communication with a broad and established client base
• Build rapport with clients and represent Tom James in a polished, professional manner

Sales & Field Support

• Assist with appointment preparation and post-appointment follow-up
• Accompany the Sales Professional on selected client visits as needed
• Help coordinate client meetings and scheduling
• Pick up and deliver client items as requested
• Represent Tom James professionally when interacting with clients in the field

Office Support

• Deliver garments to and from the tailor
• Complete bank deposits as needed
• Maintain accurate client and activity information
• Assist with other office and sales-support responsibilities as needed

Qualifications and Attributes

• Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with clients
• Strong phone presence and professional communication skills
• Able to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through without close supervision
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfortable asking questions, seeking clarification, and proactively communicating with the Sales Professional
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets, and LinkedIn
• Able to quickly learn and use new technology and proprietary computer systems
• Previous experience in sales support, client service, appointment setting, business development, or relationship management preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to bend and lift up to 30 lbs.
