Assistant Production Foreman

AJM Packaging Corporation Southgate, MI Position Overview – AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America's leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls and bags, is seeking an Assistant Production Foreman to add to our growing team! This position will ensure team safety, enforce quality standards, and provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge. Responsibilities & Duties – Ensure team is working in a safe manner and following all PPE, GMP and LOTO Procedures. Review and manage team to make sure all processes followed in order to ensure excellence in quality in all aspects of form, fit, function, and ensuring a level of excellence in SQF manufacturing. Manage staffing of machines and placement of personnel to deliver best total results in delivery to customer and maximize uptime and efficiency of completing work. Supervise staff to include but not limited to: designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work and providing input for performance appraisals. Track inventory levels of supplies. Order or make procurement recommendations of any supplies, tools, replacement parts or similar items needed. Provide continuing oversight and training of staff in order to increase their levels of knowledge, skills and abilities. Minimum Requirements – High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required; three years or more of high-speed manufacturing experience preferred; two years or more of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age or older Must have supervisory experience and leadership skills.
