Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in a surgical environment. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness, proper care, and sterilization of surgical equipment used in the operating room. The technician plays a vital part in preventing infections and maintaining operational efficiency within the surgical department.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Successful graduation from a Surgical Technologist training program or a minimum of one year of experience in operating room scrub nursing (may be waived at the discretion of the OR Supervisor). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Certification as a Central Supply Technician is a plus. Knowledge of sterilization procedures, medical asepsis, handling of tissue specimens, and inventory management. Ability to work with tedious tasks such as instrument memorization, transfer, and inventory keeping. Ability to tolerate blood and body tissue exposure. Proper training in sterilization and safety protocols is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Central Supply Technician.
• Additional Information: This position requires maintaining sterilization equipment, organizing surgical instrument trays, managing supplies, and assisting in the operation of autoclaves and sterilizers. The role supports efficient surgical procedures by ensuring all tools and equipment are ready and functional.
