Overview Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery, Bakersfield, California, United States. Start date 09/14/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment. Weekly pay ranges from $2,559 to $2,795 per week. 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (3 nights per week) in an inpatient care setting supporting obstetric patients. Assess patient status, develop and implement care plans, document care, and evaluate outcomes. Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; provide guidance and supervision as needed. Coordinate care with obstetric, anesthesia, and other disciplines to ensure safe, efficient patient flow. Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in patient management. Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy while documenting care in the medical record. Requirements Current nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the United States (state requirements apply). Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work the assigned 12-hour night shift schedule and adapt to a travel assignment environment. Knowledge of the nursing process and standard obstetric care practices.
