About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering to play a pivotal role in the development of off-Earth manufacturing. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical design and R&D of reusable autonomous manufacturing vessels, with a focus on bringing the manufacturing hardware to life in a way that meets the unique demands of space. This includes owning the electrical systems from concept to integration, leading a team of engineers, and defining the technical standards for the electrical engineering team. The role demands a hands-on approach, from leading the full hardware lifecycle to designing and analyzing circuits for high-power electronics, and leading the assembly, lab bring-up, and integration processes. Applicants for the Head of Electrical Engineering position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline, with at least 8 years of experience in electrical design engineering. Strong proficiency in a modern ECAD platform and a background in electrical design fundamentals, particularly in the context of space-rated and radiation-tolerant components, are essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in space robotics or experience in developing hardware for extreme environments, and a proven track record in designing high-reliability electronics. The role requires a candidate who is comfortable in a hands-on, lab-based environment, and who is adept at leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
