Nursing Care Provider

Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds the highest professional nursing standards. Nursing care is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant Nurse Practice Acts, the Nursing Process, and regulatory standards.

Assessment

Conduct thorough assessments and reassessments across all age groups, identifying physical, psychosocial, cultural, religious, safety, infection control, and environmental factors relevant to patient education. Gather information from patients, families, and healthcare providers to support health promotion, maintenance, and restoration. Utilize advanced assessment skills tailored to unit-specific needs and interpret findings to inform care and education plans.

Planning

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized teaching and discharge plans incorporating pharmacological, dietary, and therapy interventions. Adjust teaching strategies based on patient and family feedback as well as evolving physical and emotional needs. Prepare patients and families for outpatient education as necessary.

Implementation

Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety protocols, including exposure categories, fire, disaster, and hazardous waste procedures. Document patient and family education thoroughly using multidisciplinary forms, narrative notes, and teaching checklists. Communicate significant patient changes and education outcomes with physicians and healthcare teams. Serve as a liaison for patient education and contribute to community education initiatives.

Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Proficiency with computer systems is necessary.

Licensure and Certifications

Active Registered Nurse licensure as per state nursing board requirements. Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications as applicable.

Work Shift: 1st Shift, part-time, approximately 16 hours bi-weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
