You implement evidence-based interventions that enhance students' academic, social, and life skills, promoting their success in the educational environment. You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. Responsibilities include evaluating student needs, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring progress toward IEP goals. Responsibilities Essential Job Responsibilities Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs. Adapt general education lessons and teaching techniques to meet the needs of students with various disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students. Prepare and organize classroom activities, educational materials, and assistive technologies to create an effective learning environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and IEPs as necessary. Manage classroom behavior, implementing positive behavior support strategies when needed. Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions. Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education. Support early intervening services by participating in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) or response to intervention (RTI) initiatives Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and services. Complete academic assessments as directed by school site.
