About the Position

Position Summary

Mercyhealth Sub Acute Care Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Skilled Nursing team for an 8-week travel assignment . The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. Travelers may be required to float to other inpatient units based on patient census and staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and state regulations.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report significant changes.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and standards of care.
• Participate in department quality improvement and shared governance initiatives.
• Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to promote patient safety and positive patient outcomes.
• Float to other inpatient units as needed based on staffing and census.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Active and unrestricted Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license .
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Education verification required.
• Previous Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Med-Surg, or Sub-Acute experience preferred.
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to adapt to varying patient care needs and unit assignments.
