Distribution Manager – Columbia, SC The Distribution Manager at Groundworks oversees efficient and timely distribution of foundation repair materials, equipment, and products to support field operations nationwide. The role optimizes logistics, inventory management, and distribution processes to ensure seamless supply chain operations. Duties & Responsibilities Manage all aspects of distribution center operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping. Develop and implement distribution strategies that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support Groundworks’ rapid growth and service excellence. Coordinate logistics and transportation to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to branches and job sites. Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to maintain optimal stock availability. Lead, train, and develop distribution center staff to foster a high‑performance, safety‑conscious team environment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards within the distribution operations. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to track inventory and streamline distribution workflows. Analyze distribution metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Collaborate cross‑functionally with sales, operations, and manufacturing to support customer demands and project schedules. Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers and transportation vendors. Oversee maintenance of distribution equipment and facilities to ensure operational readiness. Prepare reports and provide regular updates to senior leadership on distribution performance and challenges. Ensure reliable attendance and punctuality; the employee must report to work on time each working day. Perform other duties as necessary or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in distribution, warehouse management, or logistics, preferably in construction materials or related industries. Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast‑paced distribution environment. Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics, and transportation best practices. Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Experience with foundation repair or construction supply chains is a plus. Willingness to occasionally travel to distribution centers, branch locations, or supplier sites. Working Conditions Primarily based in a distribution center or regional office with standard business hours; occasional extended hours may be required. Work environment includes warehouse and loading dock areas with adherence to safety protocols. Use of computers, handheld scanners, and warehouse technology integral to daily tasks. Fast‑paced, physically active environment requiring multitasking and strong organizational skills. Occasional travel to Groundworks branches, manufacturing facilities, or supplier locations.
