A Team Leader at Chick-fil-A holds a critical position in overseeing operations within their assigned area (Front of House or Back of House) during their shift, ensuring excellence in food quality, service, and operational execution. They are responsible for leading, coaching, and coordinating team members, managing workflow, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient environment. A Team Leader must excel in shift leadership to deliver an exceptional customer experience while modeling and upholding our Corporate Purpose, Vision, and Values. While each Team Leader is accountable for their primary area of the restaurant, they are expected to maintain strong awareness of total restaurant operations and collaborate to ensure overall success. This role requires strong business acumen and ownership, with an understanding of how daily decisions impact sales and the customer experience. Team Leaders are vital in fostering a positive and collaborative environment while driving results that contribute to the overall success and reputation of the business.

Customer Experience
- In alignment with all Chick-fil-A Operational requirements and Pathway procedures, oversee Team Members to ensure exceptional customer service and food quality.
- In alignment with Chick-fil-A's Winning Hearts Every Day (WHED) Strategy, maintain a clean, organized, and inviting environment in both dining and kitchen areas.
- Emphasize Chick-fil-A's customer service standards and values.
- Act as a point of contact for customer feedback and implement improvements.
- Coordinate workflow between Front of House and Back of House for timely order fulfillment.
- Manage operations during shifts to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Actively monitor and adjust operations in real time (Drive-Thru, front counter, kitchen) to protect speed of service, accuracy, and hospitality.
- Identify and resolve service or production bottlenecks quickly to prevent negative customer impact.
- Take ownership of how their area contributes to the overall customer experience, recognizing that both service and food quality drive satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales & Brand Growth
- Adhere to all Chick-fil-A brand standards to ensure a consistent and recognizable customer experience that supports demonstrable improvement and growth. in Overall Satisfaction (OSAT) and Average Daily Transaction Counts (ADTC).
- Support efficient operations that enable increased throughput, order accuracy, and improved service speed.
- Actively drive sales through order accuracy, suggestive selling, leading limited-time offer (LTO) initiatives, and maximizing check average opportunities.
- Ensure readiness for peak periods, LTO promotions, in-store community events, and high-volume demand to fully capture sales opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to increase throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and improve overall capacity.
- Reinforce brand standards through both food quality and customer interactions to build loyalty and repeat business.
Financial Stewardship
- Implement effective inventory and waste management practices to minimize waste and control costs.
- Minimize food and resource waste through proper procedures and team accountability.
- Through adherence to all systems and processes, ensure proper maintenance of equipment and other restaurant resources to avoid unnecessary costs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements that reduce cost without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with leadership to support financial and overall enterprise goals.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of key business metrics, including sales, food cost, labor productivity, speed of service, and waste.
- Make real-time, shift-level decisions within their area that balance customer experience, speed, and cost efficiency.
- Take ownership of minimizing waste, re-makes, overproduction, and labor inefficiencies.
Leadership
- Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and accountability to Team Members, ensuring a cohesive and efficient working environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively and coordinate workflow to meet operational demands across Front of House and Back of House.
- Set clear performance expectations tied to business goals and results (OSAT metrics, including speed, accuracy, food quality, and cleanliness).
- Maintain open, honest, and effective communication with other Team Leaders and senior leadership, and the Operator.
- Relay important updates and ensure team members are informed of changes.
- Demonstrate ownership of performance within their area, while contributing to overall shift success through strong cross-functional partnership.
- Clearly understand and execute responsibilities specific to their assigned area (Front or Back of House), while supporting overall operational alignment.
- Partner effectively with the opposite house Team Leader to ensure alignment between kitchen execution and customer service.
- Implement effective solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
- Enforce safety and sanitation standards across all areas of the restaurant.
- Uphold Chick-fil-A's high standards for food quality and presentation.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure consistency in menu items.
- Collaborate across all areas of the restaurant to ensure seamless communication and execution between kitchen and service.

- Evaluate team performance, providing both verbal and written constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
- Timely address performance issues and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Model and enforce all policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
