Sr. Operations Manager

Description Our Sr. Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives. They oversee all aspects of operation or functions at the site, managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and strengthening leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center. Responsibilities Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and the FC to meet and exceed the business plan. Ensure overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and that of their departments. Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, integrating them into improvement plans for the functional area. Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and the network. Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives in the area, while providing needed support for other staff initiatives. Additional Job Elements Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each. Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. Walk frequently throughout the FC and surrounding area; facilities span over a quarter mile in length. Stand and/or walk an average of 5 miles daily. Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned. Access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways) safely and without limitation. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment. Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques. Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field; MBA preferred. Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
