Travel RN – Heart & Vascular Recovery (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 guaranteed hours per week | 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation — for pre- and post-procedural cardiac patients, including cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology, and vascular patients
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care delivered by the care team
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and regulations
• Identify and respond to cardiac emergencies, demonstrating proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and established unit guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU cardiac nursing experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and identification of cardiac emergencies
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 through April 1 — declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in cardiac telemetry, pre/post cardiac care, or cardiac step-down settings
• Experience with TR bands and pulling sheaths
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
• Experience caring for STEMI post-care and critically ill cardiac patients
