Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility to donate plasma, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist is familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs, providing center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS). How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician’s standing orders, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
