Job Title: Probate Paralegal

Location: Melbourne, FL

Job Description: Seeking full-time Paralegal.

An established Brevard County law firm is seeking a full-time Probate Paralegal to assist attorneys with the administration of probate matters and ongoing client management.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with probate or a closely related area of law and be comfortable independently managing routine case workflows with attorney oversight. This position requires strong organization, careful deadline management, excellent client communication, and the ability to manage multiple active matters efficiently.

Because probate clients are often navigating difficult circumstances following the loss of a loved one, professionalism, patience, and compassion are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain probate matters throughout the administration process using the firm's practice-management system, workflows, and task management tools.
• Maintain accurate case status information, deadlines, court dates, and required follow-up activities.
• Meet and communicate with clients throughout the probate process.
• Assist with client intake and representation agreements.
• Work closely with attorneys regarding new and active matters and seek attorney guidance when appropriate.
• Draft probate pleadings, correspondence, and other case-related documents.
• Coordinate client meetings to review, revise, execute, and finalize documents.
• Prepare documents for electronic filing and maintain accurate court and case calendars.
• Monitor applicable deadlines and provide attorneys with sufficient advance notice of upcoming court dates and other time-sensitive matters.
• Keep clients informed regarding the status and progression of their matters.
• Maintain organized electronic case files throughout the probate process.
• Track active and closed matters and provide attorneys with regular updates regarding case status and upcoming deadlines.
• Help move probate matters efficiently toward completion and closure.

Required Qualifications

• Associate and/or bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active matters and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently on routine case workflows while recognizing when attorney input is required.
• Professional and compassionate demeanor when working with clients, including elderly clients and families experiencing a loss.
• Comfortable working with legal technology, electronic filing systems, and practice-management software.

Strongly Preferred

• Hands-on Florida probate experience or significant experience in a closely related practice area.
• Florida Registered Paralegal status and/or NALA certification.
• Current Notary Public commission.
• Previous experience independently managing probate workflows, court deadlines, document preparation, and client communication.
