Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a large hospital; Level 1 preferred, will accept Level 2 experience.
License: Must obtain required license before contract begins.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Competency in EKG and Telemetry.


Must-Have:
Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment.
Ability to read and interpret dysrhythmias.
Fitted for N95 prior to working in unit unless PAPR is offered or needed.
Travel experience preferred.
EPIC experience required.


Description:
The registered nurse will work in a fast-paced, high acuity ICU setting.
Patient ratios are targeted at 1:2-3.
Bedside procedures include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and G-tube placements.
Nurses frequently recover patients immediately post-operatively.
The unit utilizes special equipment such as ICP monitoring, arterial lines, Flotrac monitoring, and BIS.
Interdisciplinary support is provided by teams specializing in IV therapy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response.
Common patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, sepsis, and head bleeds related to trauma.
Travelers will be the first to float as necessary, including support for high-risk respiratory units.
Flexibility to work every other weekend and holiday is required.
The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census.
No more than 14 days of requests for time off are allowed.
All schedule requests need to be included on the front page of the application at the time of submission.
Past license actions are not accepted.
Modules of training are required and will be completed during orientation.
