Packaging mechanic

We are seeking an efficient, detailed Packaging Mechanic on behalf of a premiere pharmaceutical manufacturing partner located in Central Islip, NY. Operating directly within the high-speed production department, this role takes immediate ownership of installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing complex processing and automated packaging machinery to hit daily volume benchmarks while maintaining zero defects.

salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Execute precise machinery setups, complex product format changeovers, and calibration tuning across multi-lane packaging arrays and automated processing lines.
• Diagnose, repair, and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and fundamental electrical faults under strict downtime targets.
• Actively identify and mitigate complex systemic faults such as weight variations, product sticking, component picking, or capping line failures.
• Enforce rigorous cGMP guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and strict OSHA safety protocols, including comprehensive Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) requirements.
• Document batch processing metrics and equipment parameters within accurate digital logs and paper batch records.

The essential functions of this role include:
