RFID Lab Technician

This position will be located in Bentonville/Fayetteville, Arkansas. The RFID Lab at Auburn University is looking for motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented employees to perform RFID in-store testing and audits. This position will primarily involve fieldwork at partner locations. Fieldwork includes activities such as: RFID tag audits, barcode audits, RFID cycle counts.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform data collection tests to investigate the performance of large-scale RFID deployments.
• RFID tagging items in a retail environment and then doing tests with a RFID reader to determine the quality and readability of the tags.
• Perform in-store barcode/inventory audits.
• May occasionally participate in in-lab demonstrations and testing
• Occasionally travel to partner locations outside of the Bentonville/Fayetteville area.

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Understanding of RFID components (tags, readers, antennas, frequencies—UHF/HF) and how they function in real-world environments.
• Ability to properly tag merchandise and ensure accurate encoding for optimal readability.
• Ability to follow test protocols in live environments without disrupting store operations.
