Operations Quality Engineer

Quality ContactWe are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the primary quality contact for daily operations within the plant. This role is critical in ensuring customer requirements, compliance with industry standards, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.Daily Quality OperationsGuide team members for functionality of the CMM labMaintain Shoplogix functionality for Quality Checks to meet customer requirementsFirst line of defense for issues on the floor, working with Operations to determine best steps forwardMaintain metrology on the Operations floor, working with Engineering and MaintenanceWork with floor operators to resolve issues and create new opportunities for continuous improvementCustomer Quality ManagementLead all internal corrective actions and implementation for the plant floorLead all SPC reviews for customer requirementsUpdates to all PFMEA, PPAP, and control plansWork closely with the other Quality Engineers for customer responsesInternal Collaboration & Supplier DevelopmentWork closely with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to establish inspection and testing requirementsPartner with subcontractors to define inspection/testing requirements, product certification, and process capabilitySupport subcontractor development initiatives to strengthen supply chain qualityData Analysis & ReportingMaintain SPC data from shop floorWork with Engineering to update Shoplogix programs based on specification updatesPrepare and present quality performance reports (CP/CPK, PPM, Cost of Quality, IATF, Ford Q1, GM BIQS)Detect quality-related concerns through inspection data/charts and recommend corrective/preventive actionsCompliance & AuditsSchedule and track internal audits (IATF, BIQS, ISO 14001:2015), corrective actions, and trainingSupport testing/certification of incoming materials and parts prior to use in plant processesEnsure compliance with industry standards and customer requirementsLeadership & TrainingProvide training to inspection and testing personnel to strengthen quality culturePromote interplant relations and support achievement of plant goals and objectivesImplement statistical and advanced problem-solving techniques to prevent and correct quality issuesQualificationsMinimum 5 years of quality experience, preferably in automotive manufacturingAssociate's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or Metrology, or equivalent technical experience, preferred but not requiredStrong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skillsProficiency with PC-based tools and statistical softwareSelf-directed, detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive with strong initiativeExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, peers, and customers
