Responsibilities include delivering purposeful, age-appropriate activities; implementing individualized training plans; supporting skill development in areas such as social interaction, personal hygiene, and motor coordination; and encouraging participant choice and engagement. DSPs collaborate closely with team members, provide personal care as needed, accompany participants on community outings, and provide transportation when assigned. Additional duties include maintaining supplies and equipment, completing accurate and timely documentation, identifying program needs and solutions, attending required trainings and meetings, supporting volunteers and interns, and ensuring compliance with all agency policies, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and SOAR365's Human Rights plan.Requirements & QualificationsQualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED; one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. Relevant college coursework, disability-specific training, or medical training (such as a CNA license) may substitute for the preferred experience. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to implement individualized plans, and a commitment to positive behavioral supports are essential. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required for driving positions, along with successful completion of a SOAR365 driving test if applicable.
