A Patient Service Representative needs to have strong organizational skills along with the ability to think on their feet when faced with new situations that arise throughout each day within a professional medical environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Patient intake, such as greeting and check-in patients/verifying/updating patient demographics
• Assist patients with filling out consent forms
• Receive and process cash and credit card payments for medical services rendered
• Initiate calls, pages, and triage phone calls.
• Assists in admissions, discharges, transfers and fulfills other customer service or clerical duties

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Professional manner and appearance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of medical terms and practices preferred

Physical Requirements:

• 80% standing 20% sitting

Location and Travel Requirements:

• Location: Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
• Shift: Schedule Details (Must be flexible to all shift times below in order to be considered)
  Flex Hours: Shifts may range between 7 AM and 11 PM.
  • Typical Shifts:
    o 6:45 AM - 3 PM
    o 6:45 AM - 7 PM
    o 10:45 AM - 7 PM
    o 10:45 AM - 11 PM
    o 2:45 PM - 11 PM
    You MUST be flexible to the holes that are left AFTER our FT and PT staff pick their preferred shifts. You are not guaranteed shifts!
    Shift Structure:
    8-hour shifts OR 12-hour shifts - Must have at minimum 6 shifts in an 8 week scheduling period. At least One shift MUST be a weekend.
    Per Diems must also work 1 summer and 1 winter holiday where there is a need.
• Travel: 0% travel can be expected in this role

Pay Range Disclosure:

• $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
