This position is full time, day shift 6:00 am - 6:30 pm. Weekend rotation varies – every other to every third weekend. Self‑scheduling is offered. Join our vibrant team at the Residential Living Center at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City. As an RN within this unit you will work in a warm, welcoming environment with active and engaged elders. Our 47‑bed unit is staffed with two RNs per shift, six CNAs, a bath aide during the day, and support from activities director, aides, restoration aide and social worker. Resident input matters through a monthly Residents Council, and resident care is patient‑centered. Scope Identify and document resident/family learning needs and provide education based on assessment in collaboration with resident, family and interdisciplinary team members. Coordinate or delegate discharge activities (e.g., complete or validate transfer/discharge documents, medication instructions, activity, wound care and follow‑up appointments). Document resident/family response to education. Maintain working knowledge of CMS regulations so that documentation supports compliance. Maintain working knowledge of Medicare skilled and MDS criteria so that documentation supports the need for care and reflects resident status. Incorporate resident needs and preferences into organized, efficient delivery of care; delegate tasks appropriately. Supervise, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of assigned CNAs. Demonstrate knowledge and technical competence in preparation and administration of medications and IVs per scope of practice and hospital policy. Document nursing interventions, residents’ response to care, and resident outcomes. Set priorities for and review daily plan of care in collaboration with resident/family/significant other and other healthcare disciplines. Communicate with physician to ensure coordination of medical and nursing plan of care. Communicate compassionately and effectively. Qualifications ASN from an accredited program. BSN from an accredited program (preferred). Current Montana RN license. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Ongoing need to read labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent verbal communication with patient care providers, patients and visitors, especially in emergencies. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment with precision; frequent computer use and typing for documentation. Ability to lift, carry and transfer patients, including heavy items up to a certain weight. Ability to navigate crowded rooms with equipment and power cords. Ability to stand in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
