Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine

Job Summary and Qualifications The Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the administrative, financial, and operational activities of the section. The supervisor oversees all employees within the section and ensures that each employee is competent and maintains the skills necessary to deliver the highest level of care. The supervisor develops a section CQI plan in concert with the Hospital plan and operates the department in accordance with the financial and operational philosophies of the Methodist Healthcare System while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, OSHA, American College of Radiology, Texas Department of Radiation Control standards, and Texas Department of State Health Services. Essential Job Functions Supervise assigned personnel, plan and operate the section(s), evaluate performance, and take appropriate personnel action when necessary. Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance by providing clear direction and expectations. Lead formal and informal meetings, fostering open expression of ideas, asking key questions, and building on group dynamics to create an effective work team. Maintain inventory and equipment service records; work with vendors to ensure optimum uptime; schedule preventive and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care. View work situations from a broad context, understand interdependencies, and communicate decisions that may impact other sections. Gather and analyze data to identify issues, define problems, and evaluate alternatives before acting on a solution. Make decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information. Use resources effectively and efficiently to maintain productivity standards as set forth by the Department Director in cooperation with administration. Qualifications Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program. At least 2 years of experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies defined by the service line, facility, and department/unit specific to patient needs. Preferable: 2 years of previous management experience. Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required ARRT (R) or ARRT (N) or ARRT (T) or NMTCB or Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from the Texas Department of Health.
