DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL I

Based in Mandan Regional office, this role is ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income or a student with limited availability. The Direct Support Professional will provide services to adults and children with disabilities, along with their families, by carrying out the Mission, Vision and Values of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND). Qualifications Interest in and/or experience supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals and outcomes. Ability to work both as a team and alone, completing tasks as instructed, being receptive to new ideas and creative when solving problems. Belief that everyone can and must have the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their disability. Age 16 or older. Ability to meet and maintain background investigation requirements, and commitment to providing a drug‑free, non‑violent place for people supported to live and for employees to work. Driver’s License may be required depending on program needs. Primary Responsibilities Assist and support people to realize their goals and attain personal outcomes. Assist and support people in developing and/or maintaining a social support network. Assist and support people in maintaining or re‑establishing family connections. Assist and support people in maintaining their home, health, and well‑being. Assist and support people in utilizing community resources. Assist and support people to direct their services and make informed choices in all aspects of their life. Assist and support people to have a safe environment free of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds on one’s own. Advocate for people with disabilities and educate the community to treat them with dignity and respect, modeling positive attitudes and respectful communication. Benefits Flexible Schedule Paid Training Pay $17.00 - $19.00 per hour, based on experience.
