RN - Labor/Delivery (L&D)

LDRP Registered Nurse (RN)

This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and delivery nursing and be committed to following established guidelines for patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Adhere to AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Titrate medication drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia as required.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs; ensure timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide patient education on postpartum care and breastfeeding support.
• Maintain professionalism and uphold departmental policies, including strict adherence to fingernail policies.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are required.
• Ability to pass a skills exam during orientation.
• Must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with the organization.
• Must possess a valid driver's license for verification of residency relative to facility radius rules.

Work schedule includes:

• 12-hour night shifts are required.
• Weekend shifts are expected every other weekend.
• Holiday shifts may also be required based on departmental needs.

Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by 2-3 shifts on the floor to ensure familiarization with unit protocols and procedures.
