RN Intermediate Care

Job Summary The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. Responsibilities Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response. Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. Qualifications Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License or RN license in a Compact State. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days from start date. Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN is preferred. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days from start date. Previous critical Care experience strongly preferred. Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date. NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
