Physical Therapy Assistant PRN Acute Care

Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant collaborates with physical therapists to plan and implement programs aimed at restoring or improving patients’ mobility, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the care continuum, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and patient satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Implement treatment plans under supervision of the physical therapist, selecting appropriate activities to help patients achieve goals. Adjust plans collaboratively with therapists, patients, and families. Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and follow-up referrals. Document treatment sessions and complete required documentation per protocols. Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and professionalism. Communicate effectively with team members, participate in meetings, and utilize resources safely and efficiently. Support a positive environment through excellent customer service and teamwork, applying service recovery principles. Engage in ongoing professional development, mandatory training, and licensure maintenance. Perform additional duties as assigned, adhering to organizational policies and standards. Qualifications: Associates degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent high school diploma. Licenses and certifications including PTA and BLS (or equivalent).
