Interventional Radiology Technologist Position

Schedule: 5x8hr Days, on call/callback/holiday per unit needs

Contract Length: Will consider 6-month contracts

Preference: LOCAL CANDIDATES

On Call Requirements

• 5-7 call shifts per 7 week time block
• 2-4 of these days will be weekend call

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning and consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality
• Works cooperatively with all members of the department to resolve problems expediently
• Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness and accountability when dealing with customers
• Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity for patient's rights in all interfaces with patients

Areas of Emphasis

• Instructs and prepares patients for examinations and assists Radiologist during procedures
• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operation of all equipment and reports malfunctions to manager or lead
• Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner and uses time between procedures to department advantage-assisting others and or assisting with room turnover
• Employee understands his/her role on maintaining medication security to authorized personnel only
• Demonstrates competency in providing health care services in own job category to all age groups
• Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships to all age groups

Documentation/Information Management

• Demonstrates competency in the use of Hospital information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (BPI projects, task forces, etc.) when warranted
• Demonstrate confidentiality using own password and all patient care modules
• Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature from physicians or hospital personnel in other areas of the hospital while maintaining good phone etiquette

Requirements

• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two (2) years experience
• NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start)
• ARRT
• Technician License (currently ANY Tech License is accepted in the state of NY)
• VIR Certified
• Interventional Radiology experience

Preferred

• VIR Certified-preferred
