Jones Environmental Transportation is looking for an experienced, motivated Fleet Dispatcher to join our growing trucking operation.

We are looking for someone who understands the trucking industry, knows how to keep equipment moving, and is comfortable working with a variety of specialized freight. This is a fast-paced position where keeping trucks loaded and moving is the priority.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Dispatching and coordinating a fleet of trucks on a daily basis
• Keeping all trucks moving and productive whenever possible
• Finding and booking loads through multiple load boards and other freight sources
• Negotiating rates with brokers and customers to maximize revenue
• Developing relationships with customers and brokers to secure dedicated and repeat business
• Coordinating flatbed, step deck, RGN/lowboy, and tanker loads
• Understanding freight requirements, equipment capabilities, dimensions, weights, and routing
• Obtaining and coordinating oversize and overweight permits
• Planning efficient routes while considering permits, restrictions, escorts, and travel requirements
• Communicating with drivers throughout the day to ensure loads are picked up and delivered on time
• Handling last-minute changes, delays, breakdowns, and other issues that arise in trucking
• Coordinating with maintenance when equipment issues occur
• Maintaining accurate dispatch and load information
• Working closely with management, drivers, customers, brokers, and maintenance personnel

Weekend & After-Hours Expectations

We strive to maintain a Monday–Friday work schedule , but trucking does not always operate on a Monday–Friday schedule.

Our trucks may run over weekends, and the dispatcher will be expected to provide assistance when needed with:

• Finding and booking loads
• Permits and routing
• Driver questions and issues
• Breakdowns and maintenance concerns
• Load changes and scheduling
• Other operational issues that may arise

This position requires flexibility and a willingness to be available when the fleet needs support.

Required Qualifications

• Previous trucking dispatch experience required
• Strong knowledge of the trucking and transportation industry
• Experience dispatching or coordinating flatbed, step deck, RGN/lowboy, and tanker freight
• Strong understanding of oversize and overweight permitting
• Experience working with load boards
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure competitive rates
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers and customers
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions quickly
• Must be comfortable dealing with drivers, brokers, customers, and management
