Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Nurse
The Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Unit is seeking a dedicated Pediatric PeriAnesthesia Nurse to join our team. This is a crucial role within our 10-bed pediatric preoperative and postoperative unit and our additional 4-bed Pediatric Surgical Observation Unit (PSOU). The PSOU specializes in providing care for pediatric patients requiring extended recovery following surgery.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality preoperative and postoperative care to pediatric patients.
- Monitor and assess patient's health status during recovery, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families on preoperative and postoperative procedures and expectations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Qualifications
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
- Valid nursing license with the ability to submit with a pending Virginia license.
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the unit.
- Experience in pediatric nursing preferred.
- Ability to work nights, every other weekend, and every other holiday.
- Willingness to take scheduled time off as needed (up to 40 hours approved).
Schedule
This position offers a 13-week contract with night shift availability and requires working every other weekend and holiday.
