Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Certified Medical Coder focusing on outpatient coding. The ideal candidate will accurately code outpatient medical records, ensure compliance with federal, payer, and facility coding guidelines, and support coding quality and accuracy within the organization.

Job Description

• Medical coding in an acute care setting
• Utilize coding systems and tools, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and encoder software
• Knowledge of coding guidelines, payor guidelines, federal billing guidelines
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology & disease processes.
• Ability to research coding related issues
• Competence in coder training

Skills Required

• Three years’ experience Knowledge of ICD10
• Required experience with both Outpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding.
• Knowledge of the 3M/HDS coding application is required.

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma/GED

Certifications & Licenses:

• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required.

Other Accepted Certifications:

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) (AHIMA)
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) (AHIMA)
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) (AAPC)

Additional Requirements

• Shift: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM; One weekend day required

  Pay Rate

• $32–$38 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
