EHS Supervisor

The EHS Manager will assist the Director by managing program development, overseeing program roll‑outs, collecting key performance indicator data, assessing plant EH&S performance, and drafting key EH&S documentation such as safety manuals, program templates, and training material. The role ensures compliance with all applicable Cal‑OSHA regulations and implements and maintains all safety programs. Salary : $112,000 - $120,000 per year Shift : First Work Hours : 8 AM – 4 PM Education : High School Essential Functions Develop EH&S compliance documentation such as programs and training materials. Assist with development of standards. Work with plants to develop predictive (leading) KPIs. Develop KPI dashboard and other performance tools. Leverage existing business partners (Marsh, FM Global, Travelers) to focus resources on targeted J&J issues. Work with Regulatory and CI groups to issue a harmonized incident investigation approach that includes root cause analysis. Assist plant by training the trainers, attending regulatory meetings, and directly intervening for limited durations at troubled plants. Assist regulatory compliance campaigns to upgrade specific programs. Assign the migration of paper‑based documentation to a robust IT management and accountability tool. As the program matures, assist with development of an auditing program and conduct audits of facilities. Ensure environmental compliance (SPCC, wastewater, stormwater, Cal‑ARP, AQMD). Manage regulatory inspections (Cal/OSHA, Environmental, Fire) and help manage responses and closeout of findings. Complete other duties as assigned by management. Skills Supervisor / Coach Operations Qualifications Years of experience: 4 years Experience level: Experienced Education and Experience Required training in OSHA and/or Cal‑OSHA, Adult CPR, Standard First Aid. Preferred BA/BS degree in a related field. Minimum 4 years’ experience in an EHS Management position in a manufacturing environment. Ability to develop and formalize written safety procedures in compliance with applicable government regulations. Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish preferred. Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e‑mail). Ability to identify safety concerns, perform job safety analysis, and plan and accomplish goals.
