Power BI Developer

Power Bi Developer/PublisherWe are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer/Publisher to support a large-scale reporting and analytics modernization initiative. The primary focus of this role is migrating legacy IBM Cognos reports to Microsoft Power BI while contributing to the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise reporting and dashboard solutions.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Power BI, Oracle databases, SQL/PL/SQL, data visualization, and analytics, along with experience working in complex enterprise environments.Key Responsibilities:Lead the migration of existing IBM Cognos reports to Microsoft Power BI.Analyze legacy reports and develop equivalent or enhanced Power BI dashboards and reports.Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, scorecards, metrics, and visualizations.Ensure all reporting solutions adhere to established development standards, data governance policies, and accessibility requirements.Provide ongoing production support for reports and dashboards, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, testing, and enhancements.Create consolidated Power BI usage reports and analytics to support organizational reporting needs.Collaborate with business users, analysts, technical teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into reporting solutions.Perform data analysis and validate functional and technical requirements.Recommend and implement reporting and analytics best practices.Participate in Power BI workspace architecture, security design, deployment processes, version control, and documentation.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting, analytics, and business intelligence platforms.Required QualificationsStrong experience with Microsoft Power BI development and administration.Extensive hands-on experience designing and building:DashboardsReportsGraphs and VisualizationsCrosstabsScorecardsMetricsFilters and PromptsAdvanced experience with Oracle Database technologies.Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills.Experience migrating reports from IBM Cognos to Power BI.Experience with Microsoft Fabric.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.Ability to identify root causes and resolve complex technical issues.Knowledge of current and emerging data management and analytics technologies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.Experience working directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience within Higher Education environments.Knowledge of student information systems and higher education data.Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.Familiarity with accessibility standards and compliance requirements.Key SkillsMicrosoft Power BIIBM CognosMicrosoft FabricOracle DatabaseSQLPL/SQLData VisualizationDashboard DevelopmentBusiness IntelligenceData AnalyticsReporting SolutionsData GovernanceProduction SupportTroubleshooting & Debugging
