This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, accurate documentation, and effective communication with both customers and internal personnel.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:Air-cooled chillersWater-cooled chillersCooling towersPumpsBoilersAir handling units (AHUs)Split systemsPackaged HVAC equipmentEvaluate equipment performance and provide recommendations regarding repair or replacement optionsIdentify required replacement components and obtain manufacturer-approved repair informationExplain technical findings and recommended solutions clearly to customers and team membersTake part in the company's rotating emergency service scheduleMaintain assigned company vehicle, tools, and stocked inventory in a clean and professional conditionComplete all service-related records using company software systems, including:Labor and time entriesService details and resolution codesEquipment informationCustomer approval signaturesMaintain regular communication with the Service Manager and Service CoordinatorUtilize tablets, iPads, and computer-based programs to document work performed and service resultsReporting StructureReports Directly To: Service ManagerMinimum RequirementsAt least three years of commercial HVAC service experience with verifiable referencesStrong background in troubleshooting and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC equipmentDemonstrated ability to determine when equipment should be repaired versus replacedExcellent customer service and professional communication skillsAbility to take ownership of responsibilities and provide leadership when situations require itEPA Universal Certification (required)Ability and willingness to travel as needed for service callsProfessional appearance and positive attitudeCapable of working independently with limited supervisionStrong written documentation skills and attention to detailEffective verbal communication and reporting abilitiesWhy Join West Techs?If you're looking for a company that values technical expertise, integrity, and teamwork, West Techs offers an environment where skilled technicians can build long-term careers while working on some of the industry's most critical commercial and industrial HVAC systems.Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug test upon being given a conditional offer of employment.
