About the Patient Care Coordinator Role

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and driven Patient Care Coordinator to support our physicians and care teams in delivering an outstanding patient experience. This role is primarily based in our Waycross clinic and serves as a key connection between patients and providers.

Patient Care Coordinators play an essential role in ensuring patients feel welcomed, informed, and prepared for their visits. This position is ideal for individuals who value meaningful work, enjoy helping others, and want to grow within a stable healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the front desk representative, answering phones and greeting patients warmly
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient check-in and information collection
  • Assist with appointment scheduling and patient inquiries
  • Maintain on-time clinic flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals
  • Retrieve, scan, update, and maintain patient records in the EMR (athenahealth)
  • Collect patient payments and assist with billing-related questions
  • Manage office supply inventory and maintain an organized front office
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Support clinic operations with additional duties as needed
  • Travel to nearby clinics to provide additional support when required
Qualifications
  • Experience in a front-office, customer service, or healthcare clinic role preferred
  • Prior primary practice experience preferred
  • Medical billing and coding experience highly preferred
  • Experience using an EMR system; athenahealth preferred
  • Strong communication skills and professional presence
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional customer service and patient-first mindset
  • Reliable transportation required

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

This position includes regular desk and computer work combined with frequent patient interaction. Extended periods of standing and occasional lifting of items over five pounds may be required. The clinic environment is climate-controlled with moderate noise levels.
Compensation & Employment Type

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with similar roles in the region, based on experience and qualifications.
