Up Closets of Collin County is looking for an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Lead Operations and Closet Installer to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in their work, can lead a team, solve problems in the field, and help us create a smooth installation experience for our customers from start to finish.

The right person will not only serve as our lead installer but will also help oversee the day-to-day operations of our installation team, including project preparation, installer coordination, quality control, job site management, and communication with ownership.

What You'll Do

Installation & Jobsite Leadership

• Lead the installation of custom closets, pantries, garages, home offices, entertainment centers, and other organizational systems.
• Read and interpret design plans, measurements, and installation specifications.
• Properly install cabinetry, shelving, drawers, doors, hardware, accessories, and other system components.
• Ensure installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot installation challenges while on-site.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site throughout the installation.
• Protect customers' homes and belongings while work is being completed.
• Complete final quality checks and address punch-list items before leaving the jobsite.
• Provide a professional and positive customer experience throughout the installation process.

Operations & Team Management

• Review upcoming projects and installation schedules to ensure the team is prepared for each job.
• Coordinate with ownership and the design team regarding project details, materials, installation requirements, and potential concerns.
• Help coordinate installer scheduling and determine appropriate staffing for upcoming projects.
• Confirm materials, tools, hardware, and job site requirements are ready before installation.
• Serve as the primary on-site leader for installers and installation assistants.
• Delegate responsibilities and provide clear direction to the installation team.
• Monitor workmanship, productivity, job site cleanliness, and adherence to company standards.
• Communicate project delays, material issues, damages, customer concerns, or other challenges to ownership promptly.
• Document missing or damaged materials and coordinate information needed for service or follow-up visits.
• Help maintain company tools, equipment, installation supplies, and vehicles.
• Assist with training and onboarding new installers as the team grows.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to ownership to improve installation processes, efficiency, and overall field operations.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is skilled with their hands and comfortable taking ownership.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has previous experience in closet installation, cabinetry, finish carpentry, millwork, construction, remodeling, or a similar trade.
• Has strong carpentry, measuring, leveling, drilling, and installation skills.
• Can confidently read measurements, plans, and design drawings.
• Has experience leading or supervising a crew.
• Is organized and able to manage multiple project details.
• Has strong problem-solving skills and can make good decisions in the field.
• Communicates professionally with customers, team members, designers, and ownership.
• Pays close attention to details and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
• Is dependable, punctual, and accountable.
• Is comfortable providing direction and holding team members accountable to company standards.
• Can work independently without requiring constant supervision.
• Understands that sometimes things don't go exactly according to plan and can calmly figure out the next step.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. Candidates must be able to:

• Lift and carry closet and cabinetry components, tools, and materials.
• Stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work on their feet for extended periods.
• Safely operate power tools and installation equipment.
• Load and unload materials as needed.
• Work inside customers' homes and occasionally in garages or other non-climate-controlled spaces.

Schedule & Availability
Installation schedules will vary depending on project volume and customer needs. Candidates should have reliable availability during normal weekday installation hours, with occasional additional hours as projects require.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.

Important: this is a hands-on leadership role

Although this position includes operations management responsibilities, this is not a desk-based operations manager position.

The Lead Operations and Closet Installer will actively participate in installations while taking ownership of field coordination, team leadership, quality control, and day-to-day installation operations.
