Location: King Edward VII Memorial Hospital General

The successful candidate is responsible for evaluation, planning, directing, and administering programmes of therapy following referral from a physician in our Rehabilitation Day Hospital.


Key responsibilities include:
• Meeting productivity standards set by the department for direct patient contact and other related non-patient contact duties
• Performing an appropriate assessment on all in and/or outpatients following referral; use objective clinical measures to identify problems and formulate treatment plans based on realistic stated goals; carry out specific therapeutic interventions as indicated ensuring that a client centered approach is employed throughout this process
• Supervising and delegating specific written treatment plans to aides, assistants, and/or students
• Observing and evaluating treatment effect; communicating patient progress or lack of to appropriate staff and physicians
• Maintaining patient documentation using the appropriate electronic medical record, ensuring documentation meets current standards and policies; prepares specific clinical reports as requested
• Keeping accurate and timely statistics of both direct and indirect time spent and prepares specific clinical reports as required


Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required with certification, if applicable, in jurisdiction of training
• 1 - 2 years post-graduate experience in a related Occupational Therapy environment, preferably within a hospital
• Local registration to practice with the Council for Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and meet all re-registration requirements
• Experience with evaluation, treatment and management of upper extremity and hand an asset
• Utilizes clinical, hospital and community resources

Work Type: Part Time With Benefits

Schedule: 30 hours per week ( Allied Health Services participate in a six-day rota that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays.)

Salary Scale: $56.2145 per hour (BP25-27)
