Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) As a Medical Support Specialist, you will support plasma center operations by evaluating donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and handling donor notification for unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, preparing Center Physician standing orders and arranging transportation to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues involving donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable. Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completed FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training. Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
